Justin Sun Takes A Dig At Ethereum, Says It Can’t Handle USDT Traffic, Urges Holders To Use TRON

In a rather strange and unexpected tweet, founder and chief of TRON, Justin Sun wrote on Thursday that Ethereum couldn’t handle the traffic of USDT. He also urged USDT owners to use TRON instead, as it was free and offers instant transactions.

While Sun has a history of promoting TRON at the unexpected occasion, this is a rare incident where he has openly criticized one of his biggest competitors. Ethereum, in fact, is inarguably among the most powerful names in the decentralized currency space, but the same can’t be said for TRON or Sun. Most crypto enthusiasts and users have heavily criticized TRON and Justin for various reasons, the latest being the drama behind the Power of One Lunch with Warren Buffett, which sadly, never materialized for the TRON Chief.

There hasn’t been any official response from Ethereum of Sun’s tweet, though the enthusiasts have heavily trolled him in the tweet itself. At a time when Ethereum is having certain nagging issues in the community, the last thing it would want to is entering into a banter, with a name as controversial as Sun, on Social Media.

Tether announced support for USDT (US Dollar and Euros) based on ERC20 protocol in July 2019, and since then, it has been somewhat a shaky ride; however, it doesn’t meet the Ethereum can’t handle USDT traffic. Ethereum, as most crypto loyalists would agree, is among the strongest and potent blockchains in the industry. On the other hand, USDT started issuing the stablecoin on the Tron blockchain from April 2019 and so far, there hasn’t been any fuss about it. Justin Sun, who has over 1.7 million followers on Twitter, tweeting that Ethereum is not good enough, is somewhat in the zone of negative marketing and quite uncalled for.

However, Sun is known for his over-display of emotion on social media, as he did in the case of his $4.57 million dinner with the Berkshire Hathaway CEO. After promoting it continuously for several weeks, the dinner ended in an ugly manner, and Sun could never take part in it.
